My Blog

Last weekend I planted a dozen fruit trees, most of them in my small front yard. They arrived last week, bareroots wrapped in burlap bags. People didn’t believe me when I told them I was planting 10 trees in my little space. In a couple years I’ll start having more fruit than I can eat, so

The world’s largest national heirloom seed exposition was at Santa Rosa, California on September 13, 14, and 15 . For three days the largest arrays ever seen of heirloom produce were displayed– from across the United States. There were more than 70 speakers, talking about everything from seed saving, GMO products, home gardening, politics and farming, and

The Bristol Stool Scale was brought to my attention as a joke recently. It’s a real poop scale! After Dr. Oz and Oprah got everyone to look at their poops, maybe this is no big deal. I think it is just a little weird though. Having said that, I am going to come out of

The film follows Dr. Sternberg to a village on the island of Crete where she personally experiences the power of healing that has inspired

I talked to my Dad the other day. He was cooking. He loves to cook, and gives the food to friends, and family. Maybe there was a Lion’s Club meeting–he’ll bring 2 gallons of homemade chili. He’s good at soups. Potato-leek soup is one of my favorites, the Elks Club loves when he shows up

Breakfast everyday, the best way to start your day. That’s what I heard growing up. And there is something to it. I was raised on Wheaties, whole milk, and a lot of sugar on top. Looking back, that probably wasn’t the best combo, but sometimes I put some sliced bananas on it. Guess I wanted
