FAQ’s

What is Homeopathy?
It is a form of alternative medicine that is holistic, scientifically based, safe to use, inexpensive, and can be curative for chronic diseases.

What does Homeopathy mean?
It comes from the Greek “homios” (meaning similar) and “pathos” (meaning suffering). The “Law of Similars” states that a substance that causes a similar symptom in a healthy person can cure those same symptoms in a sick person.

Is this expensive?
The initial consult is the most expensive part, and also requires the most time and energy from the homeopathy. Prices seem to range from $200 to $800. Considering how much some people spend for allopathic medications every month, not including doctor visits, blood tests, specialists, etc., and still suffer with their illness, homeopathy can be very cost effective. The remedies themselves are usually inexpensive, (less than $15).

Are their any blood tests, physicals, or special exams?

No, usually it is just a very thorough interview.

They sell homeopathic remedies over-the-counter at health food stores. Why can’t I just go buy some?
There are over 4,000 different remedies, and although you may be able to treat a 1st aid problem easily, finding the best remedy for a chronic problem requires a skilled homeopath.

I have more than one illness, will it help all of my problems?
Yes. This is why a homeopath is needed to take your case. They treat the whole person, and brings the entire person to a greater level of health.

How fast does it work?
Every case is individual. Some people notice a change almost immediately; others may take longer, up to 6 weeks.

Are there side effects?
Unlike conventional drugs, the remedies usually do not have any severe side effects.

Is it just a placebo effect?
No. It is a form of energy medicine. You don’t have to “believe” for it to have an affect. It is used successfully on animals as well as children.

Do I have to stop other prescription medications to do this?
o. Your treatment and dosing of your remedy will be adjusted to accommodate this. However, when your remedy starts acting, you may find that you can reduce and possibly eliminate your other medications as you improve.

Are the remedies prepared in a safe manner?
Yes, homeopathic medicines are standardized in their preparation, and better accepted by the FDA than medicines from other forms of alternative medicine.
